Program Manager, Innovation Team
What we’re looking for:
The Baltimore Innovation Team (i-team), within the Mayor’s Office of Performance and Innovation, seeks an experienced Program Manager to facilitate and guide the development and implementation of innovative research-driven solutions based in data and design for the City of Baltimore. The Program Manager must be a quick learner who can rapidly get up to speed on any subject, cutivate relationships, and coordinate stakeholders. The Program Manager will join a dynamic team that addresses issues with curiosity, rigor, and a spirit of collaboration. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable success and skills in the areas of project management and a citizen-focused mindset to drive change, innovation, and development on our current and developing priority areas.
What you would be doing:
Work closely with the i-team, the Office of Performance and Innovation, and partner City agencies to plan and develop scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, work plan, and timing for initiatives
Cultivate buy-in from partner City agencies and stakeholders
Supervise development of targets and regular measurement of progress
Actively identify and address risks to project progress and success
Ensure timely communications within i-team, and with partner City agencies and stakeholders
Establish effective project communication plans and execute
Actively identify opportunities to highlight i-team work in curated communications
Lead regular team progress and coordination meetings
Communicate progress and elevate issues for guidance to Deputy Director
Lead the effective and efficient use of use of human, social, and financial resources
Be a cheerleader for the initiatives and for Baltimore
Qualifications & Mindset
Masters in Business, Public Administration or related field desired. Bachelors required.
2 to 5 years of project management experience
Solid, recent, and demonstrable experience managing medium to large projects in a fast paced/dynamic environment, which required collaboration across groups and levels
Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Strong influencing and leadership skills as well as ability to work in a team-oriented collaborative environment
Effective presentation skills to cross-functional teams
Deep empathy and a commitment to social equity
Experience working in government is a plus
A passion for improving people's lives and a love of Baltimore
